A dedicated, private automation tool designed exclusively for encrypted backup and disaster recovery of personal virtual private server (VPS) infrastructure.
About the Application
Vps is a personal, non-commercial maintenance and backup application created by and for the server owner. Its sole function is to automate scheduled, reliable off-site backups of system configuration, application state, and databases directly to private cloud storage.
The application runs as a local system service and integrates with the Google Drive API to archive encrypted snapshot repositories. It is strictly for personal use and does not provide public registration, multi-user accounts, or commercial services.
Google Drive API Integration
The application requests access to the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file scope. Under this non-sensitive scope, the application only has permission to view and manage files and folders that the application itself creates or that the user explicitly opens with it.
The application cannot access, read, or modify any other files or folders in your Google Drive.
All data is securely encrypted locally on the server before upload using Restic (AES-256 in CTR mode with Poly1305 authentication). Google Drive stores only unreadable ciphertext chunks.
Restricted strictly to the designated application directory. The application has zero visibility into personal documents, photos, or emails stored in Google accounts.
No telemetry, no analytics, no external advertising, and no data sharing. Backups flow directly and solely between the server and the owner's Google Drive.
Access credentials can be revoked at any moment directly through the official Google Account Security dashboard without affecting stored files.
